Girlfriend/Daughter Killed

I have been watching the news recently and it came to my attention aboout the young women who went to UVA and was murdered. After seeing and hearing about his on the news I decided to do a little bit of research on the case of the girlfriend/daughter being murdered. I found an interestiing article which talks more about the young women and how they think that her boyfriend murdered her. This is very tragic to be in a relationship with an abusive boyfriend who drinks and acts crazy which leads to terrible behavior. Reporters have said that he might not of killed her intentionally, but accidently which he can still be severely charged for murder. The boyfriend has been in trouble with the police many times and it is just devestating to here that someone you thought loved and cared for you killed you. I just dont understand what the world is coming too. Also, in the article it talked abouthow they had two weeks left until raduation and that they were going to start their lives together happily and this tragic incident happened. Not only did he loose her by killing her, he lost his life as being a happy man living his life with someone he supposedly cared and loved for. Its really ashame to see this happen to an innocent young women. http://wjz.com/local/cockeysville.woman.maryland.2.1679117.html

Sandra's Biggest Secret... REVEALED!

Sandra is a very inspiring women with everything she has done in her life. She did not make a mistake by not telling people that she adopted a three month old baby boy. Sandra is a very smart and intelligent women and she knows whats best for her and her children. I dont understand why everyone is mad at her for not telling us about her secret adoption. Its her business and if she really wanted people to know about it then she would have told it from the beginning. But it still does not change the fact that shes filing for divorce. She will get custody of the kids just like she said in her interview on access hollywood. If people have a problem with her not sharing her adoption for the baby then I think you have a serious problem. Its not like she admitted to cheating on Jesse with another man or something serious in that matter to make people start questioning about her. I just dont understand why people have to be so nosey wanting to start drama and make up lies about someones life. Either way, Im on Sandra's side so it does not matter what anyone says or thinks. I believe she should be blessed and happy that she has another child in her life that she loves and can make a wonderful life for him. She even told people magaizine "its like hes always been a part of my life, and that he's just perfect and she cant describe him in any other way". She named the baby Louis Bardo Bullock a three month old born in New Orleans. Sandra today is now finalizing the adoption as a single parent and proud of it.

Media's Impact on Children

In today's society the adverage child spent watching t.v. is 75% of boys and girls from the age of 18 and under. I believe that children are watching too much t.v. and it's effecting who they are. For example, I found an article about televisions impact on children and how they act after seeing inappropriate things on t.v. Violence was brought up in this article and parent's are allowing their child to watch violent acts and crimes on t.v. A lot of kids think that it's real and not animated because once they see it in real life they believe that they can be like spiderman. In this article researchers have found three responses to the way that media affects children. First was "the increased fear of a child". Second was "desentization to real world violence". Lastly, "increased aggressive behavior". With all three of these responses I believe that this is a major problem and something must be done. I mean you have kids bringing guns to school because they see movies were people kill one another. You have them bullying and fighting aggressively because their favorite action hero's do it and they want to be just like them. Overall, it doesn't make sense for these young children to be acting the way they are and the parents are the problem. If i was a parent I wounld not be letting my 6 year old watch wrestling or any type of violence until they were in their teens or old enough to understand. Also, parent's don't understand that watching all this t.v. and violence effects a childs development because if they are watching and listening to things that are inappropiate then it will affect their social skills when getting older. Sometimes children play with the remote and flip through shows and sexual content appears. How are you going to explain that to your child and how they are too young. Parent's need to step up and do their jobs as being a successful parent.

Obama gives gays and lesbians their RIGHT!!!

In a recent article I read how Obama signed a memorandum telling hospitals to let gays and lesbians to have non-family vistors and to grant their partners in having a medical power of attorney. Also, Obama stated how gay marriage can attempt to end different practices at hospitals clearly stating "only family members by blood or marriage are alowed to visit the patients. I totally argee with Obama's decision and I stand by him when documenting this because patients should not be allowed to have anyone but their spouse or family member as for gays and lesvians. Over the years, gays have faught marriages of how they could ease emotional pain with not having the right to visit their partner because of an illness. Obama had made it clear that all gays and lesbians will be provided with their rights. Gays and lesbians should never have been banned from not being able to see their loved ones just because their gay. That's the issue with people in our society today. They judge gays and lesbians by saying "their different and they are not like us so get out of here you fag". Any kind of rude talk to discriminate gays and lesbians is rediculous. Now they got their peace.

Teens and Tanning = Cancer = Death

Recently Maryland has passed a law with teens tanning in beds under the age of 18. Im glad that this law was passed because there are too many young girls tanning and they either do not wear googles or they do not use lotion which is a major risk factor for skin cancer. Teens today don't understand what it means to be safe in the sun and getting the right amont of vitamin D possible without over exposing themselves to too much sunlight. I am currently working at a tanning salon and i see people that come to tan everyday which is bad for skin and causes more and more skin cancer and possibly death. Now since that new law was passed anyone under the age of 18 must have their parents sign a consent form allowing him or her to tan. Which to me basicly says ohh it's okay to watch my child get cancer and die. I really don't understand it some people just dont have any common sense or respect for their self. There is a recent article that I found to be interesting on tanning beds and cancer. It is said that "teens who have tanned in their teen and 20's the risk of melanoma is 75%. Check ot the article below:

Here are some very interesting video clips about skin cancer and tanning:

Fighting For Her Rights...

Today in class, we disscussed about how women are gendered differently then men throughout the media, how their masculinity changes, and after talking about it, it ade me think about the situation with Sandra Bullock and her husband Jesse James. I watched and listened to so many interviews about this and its so devistating. But after hearing the terrible news about Sandra Bullock's husband having an affair with another women while she was filming a movie is very upseting. I dont understand how any man or women could have cheat on someone that they love. Especially if they are married. While reading several articles about Sandra and what she believes is best for her and her daughter is to get James out of their lives. I believe she has the right to step up and file for divorce and get custody of her daughter. I think that not only in the long wrong is this better for Sandra so she can continue her acting career as a single happy mom. In one article that I read about her filing divorce, there was dialogue between her and an interviewer about what she would have done if she would have caught him sooner and Sandra said "if she could se would have beat James to death with a baseball bat. An would have done more damage then Tiger's wife had done". This shows a great deal of when a man's masculinity is questioned because he knows what he's done is wrong and to make him feel as low life as Sandra did with James she's in full control now with all the power. I totally agree with Sandra's point of view and I do hope she wins and gets custody of her daughter.

Ellen's Gay! What?

Why are people judging gay marriages? I dont think that people should be discriminated with who they really are and why they are like the way they are. For example, the Ellen show is one of my favorite daytime t.v. shows because she is such a wonderful and an amazing person who is always giving away money for charities and foundations to help people in a lower income. I have watched almost all of her shows and I dont understand why people have to comment negatively towards her and her show because she's gay. Also, she had alot of disappointing viwers when she came out and annoyced she was getting married to a women. It should not matter if you are gay or straight to have your own t.v. show without being critized everyday. Throughout the years, Ellen has improved with her shows and more people participating in her shows has made Ellen feel better about herself. Later on she was annoced that see was ingaged to a women named Portia who she was with for a couple of years and she thought that it was the right time to get married no matter what anyone said. Click on the link below so you can get somemore footage from Ellen's gay marriage.

What are your reactions toward gay marriages?
